I seemed to be on a roll, but when I ran Windows' Camera app, an error message pops up, "We can't find your camera" error code 0xa00f "NoCamerasAttached".

I'm using a vanilla keyboard. There is no key labeled to turn on the camera. No switch on the camera. There is a sort of volume control for the LED illumination, but turning that all the way up doesn't turn on the camera, nor is there an "off" click in the other direction.
